Privacy policy

Last updated 13 October 2026

This page explains what Nebular Nomad collects, why, and what you can do about it. We follow New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020. We keep it small: no email address, no real name, no ads and no analytics.

Who we are

Nuleaf Design runs the Nebular Nomad game and this website from New Zealand. You can reach us at hello@nuleafdesign.co.nz.

What we collect

When you create a pilot account

  • Your pilot name.
  • Your password, stored only as a one-way hash, so we can’t read it.
  • A login token, also stored as a hash, so the game can remember you on your device.
  • Your best score, the level you reached and when you last set a score.

We don’t ask for your email address, real name, phone number or location.

When a score is sent

We record the date and time, your IP address, your pilot name, the score, the level reached, how long the run lasted and whether the score was accepted. We also log technical errors. We use this to fix problems and spot cheating.

From our web host

Like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers keep standard logs of requests, such as IP address, browser type and the pages asked for.

On your device

The game saves a few things in your browser’s local storage: your pilot name and login token, your best score on this device, your sound and vibration choices, and any score that is waiting to be sent. It also keeps copies of its own files so it loads quickly and works on a weak connection. We don’t use cookies, and we don’t use advertising or analytics trackers.

Other companies involved

The game loads its font (Syne Mono) from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when it does. This website hosts its own fonts. Our hosting provider stores the information above on our behalf, and its servers may be outside New Zealand.

How we use it

To run the game and the leaderboard, keep your account working and secure, find and fix problems, and stop cheating. We don’t sell your information and we don’t use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Anyone can see your pilot name, best score and level on the leaderboard. Everything else stays private. We don’t share it, except with our hosting provider as needed to run the service, or if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep account details until you ask us to remove your account, or until we delete accounts or reset the leaderboard. Our log files are capped in size and the oldest entries are discarded automatically.

Your choices and rights

  • You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Email us with your pilot name and we’ll reply within 20 working days.
  • Use Log out in the game menu to remove your login from a device.
  • Clear your browser’s site data to remove everything the game saved on your device.

Children

The game is for ages 13 and up. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a younger child has an account, tell us and we’ll remove it. See also our terms of use.

Keeping it safe

We hash passwords and collect as little as we can, but no system is perfectly secure. Please use a password you don’t use anywhere else.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we’ll update this page. The date at the top shows the latest version.
